Since 2001, I’ve been the thriller and detective fiction reviewer for some of the largest newspapers in the country. Regular readers will have seen my newspaper column, Grit-Lit in the San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times and dozens (hundreds?) of other fine family publications.
Why and how did I wind up with this absolutely outstanding job?
Because I’ve wasted a lot of my time reading bad books. Books that you won’t ever have to read.
And I’ve enjoyed countless hours of bliss reading the absolutely best in action and adventure fiction.
By my estimate, I’ve read over 5000 books (yes that makes me an um … older and experienced gentleman).
But I’m not just a reader, I’m a writer, too. With an extensive freelance career that includes major advertising agencies, products you’ve heard of like Quicken, products you’ve never heard of like Panamas surge protectors, a book about how to win a California Lemon Law suit. Plus I’ve got two major novels in the works.

PANN MURUJAIYAN
Pann holds a Bachelor of Film Studies with Distinction and is the recipient of the inaugural Outstanding Student Award in Film Studies at SAE Institute, Perth. He has a rigorous work ethic directing seven short films within a two-year period. Pann fuses Asian sensibilities and Australian bush-wrangling themes with a solid understanding of American film-success elements. His trademark style is a synthesis of intense emotion, complex and intriguing narratives, and high-octane action. His ability to access deep emotions draws in movies-goers who naturally sympathize with the characters in living experience. Pann creates memorable fight scenes in which every character plays an essential role. He leverages Hitchcock-like twisted plots, fully engaging viewers in suspense. Though dialogue is minimized, there is deep development of character. Pann integrates advanced color theory and technical camera work to further dissolve distinctions between the on-screen movie and viewer perception. Pann brings an in-depth understanding of the target demographic viewers, showcasing strong female roles as well as complex male characters.
Pann is the director of the action packed short, Imperfect Quadrant (2016) released on Amazon Prime. Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, 2017) beautifully interprets Imperfect Quadrant’s lead character Bella.
